subtle movements of Spirit

Saying For Today: The person is not free to move freely, as such movement arises from past conditioning; if freedom arises, that is always an expression of Spirit in the moment, the eternal now.

An interspiritual exploration of identity and its relation to the subtle movements of universal Spirit.

The song for today may seem un-spiritual for some. Still, if one listens closely and reads this work closely, one may discern that being crazy, in a nonconventional way, is exactly what we need to be, rather than what is known as normal ~ whatever that is.

Awakening, moving downstairs, I hear voices this morning. These voices I enjoyed the night before. Likewise, I have enjoyed hearing for months and reading about the group I am exploring membership in ~ the Quakers. I have listened to learn more of its work and ways. For a time, here, standing alone, I feel a recoiling away from any words about Quakers and their works. This is not sensed as a disapproval of such, only as an inward pulling away from it.

From the psychological viewpoint and biological, which is the body-mind, one can theorize about why is this spontaneous and inward turning away. Yet, today, I am not addressing a movement from the aspects of merely body-mind, the psychological self.

Likewise, being a spiritual movement, this is not a judgmental matter ~ a moving away in spirit is never in judgment against, if such arises, this is ego interrupting the purity of the motion ~, and this is not a permanent experience. This moving from, or recoiling away, is an experience. If it arose in the body-mind, it would be of the ego; if it occurred from essence, it would be non-egoic, given to the self, not caused within the self.

Attributed to Jesus, in the Gospel of John, or these words: The wind (or, breath, spirit, Spirit) blows about where it chooses. You hear the sound of it. Still, you do not know from where it comes, or to where it is going. So, this is the way of everyone born in the Spirit.

The Gospel scripture points to the freedom of Spirit to move without the understanding of the self to understand or without an egoic cause for the movement. The Spirit is free, the ego, or self, or body-mind, is not free in itself. Any freedom known by ego is a given-freedom, a gift, arising from Grace. The person is not free to move freely, all such movement arising from past conditioning; if freedom arises, that is always an expression of Spirit in the moment, the eternal now.

So, a legitimate question, referring again to the above anecdote... "Was the movement away that you experienced of the body-mind or of spirit?" ~ in this writing I will, at times, use spirit, rather than Spirit, for spirit is our deepest connection with universal Spirit, is who we are essentially. One knows the movement of spirit by the felt-quality of the experience. With time, one learns to distinguish the movement of egoic consciousness from spirit. No one can teach this. The sense of this movement, its purity and freedom, is only taught through Spirit.
